we stayed at anka resort, myself my fiancee, my brother my sister and my parents in may 2006.
on arrival first impressions were Ok, rooms were spacious and clean. were a little worried about the amount of steps but we were expecting the steps due to the hilly location stated in the brochure.
we woke on our first morning in need of a good breakfast but were immediately dissapointed. no milk for a cup of tea or coffee, we had to wait for the member of staff to visit the local shop. little cereal that was offered was soggy, no butter, no toaster, nothing that us brits would call a breakfast. the available food consisted of, tomatoes, salad and dry bread. (if we were lucky a hard boild egg if you got there first thing!!!) one morning i cracked open my egg to find it RAW! all the waiters said was 'SORRY'.
dinner was not much better. none of the food was labelled, was always swimming in pink or green mayonnaise birds were free to come and dine with us and so were all the cats. there was very little food to choose from. we ate there for about 3-4 days until we became ill, then we opt out of eating at Anka!!
drink wern't much better. all drinks were watered down. my mum asked for a diet coke so the barman filled the glass 1/2 way up with normal coke then topped it up with water!!! you were only allowed to be served with 1 drink at a time! the chef's at the snack bar(if you can call it that) leisurely smoked cigarretes as they cooked. we have photographs to prove it!!!
only good thing about Anka was the pool and the weather. don't be put off by Turkey- it is a fab place to holiday. this is our third time in Turkey we have been all inclusive only once and would never do it again!!! stay self catering in apartments like Kivanc or the all inclusive world of wonders.
