iyi

Harikaa!!
En basta giderken çok tedirgindik çünkü nasıl bi otelle karşılaşıcagımızı bilmiyorduk ancak otele giriş yaptık harika bi hizmet o an basladı yataklar asırı rahat temizlik oldukca iyi siz yazı asmasanız bile hergün odanız mutlaka temizleniyor..yemekler çok lezzetli (kilo aldık geldik zaten) we temiz siz oturmadan servisiniz önünüze açılıyor masa degişimi oldugunda müthiş bi hızla temizleniyor havuz biraz küçük ama yeterince temiz ve çoluk çocuk su yataklarıyla doluşmadıgı sürece sorun yok..aslında otel denize 0 sayılır yürüyerek 2 dakika geçmeden sahil kenarında oluyorsunuz.sadece otelden denize direkt yol yok L çizerek gidiyorsunuz..Bu ücrete bu hizmet harikaydı tek kelimeyle..Sehir merkezine çok yakn özellkle tam gençlere göre bi otel barlar sokagına 5 dakika bile deil..yeme içme sorununu düşünmeyip gezmeye yönelik bi tatil yapacaklara kesinlikle tavsiye ederim..

My fiance and I stayed at the Eken Resort Hotel for 1 week at the bargain price of £250 (all extras included). What a bargain! A bright and beautiful hotel - probably slightly higher than Travel Lodge standard in the UK but with nice little extras everywhere to give it that welcoming appeal.

Our room was immaculately clean, had all the necessities you expect on holiday (comfy well dressed bed, decent decor, en-suite bathroom and shower facilities, nice wee balcony, etc) and it was well attended to on a daily basis, with staff leaving fresh towels and bedding everyday - which was usually folded intricately to look pretty on your arrival back into your room after a day in the sun - nice touch !

Staff were very friendly, courteous and took great pride in their services. The reception staff, although were not entirely fluent in English - made great attempts to understand all customers and to answer any queries made. If they were unable to do so straight away they always made sure that your queries were attended to timeously.

One particular member of staff should be commended here - Beken - the main barman. Despite working 14+ hour days (12noon - 2am and often longer than this!), his cheery nature was a breath of fresh air. He made everyone in the hotel feel welcome and was never imposing or obstrusive in his manner. He is an intelligent man who is conversant in English, French and Italian (and some Dutch too!) - I only wish I spoke as many languages! No request was ever too much for Beken. One particular night my partner and I wanted to stay in and relax with a game of some sort - he got us a selection of games to keep us occuppied - we were astounded by how consistently accommodating he was, notwithstanding his long work hours.

The waiters were also very nice. Very well mannered, well dressed and efficient. The young waiter (who was predomnantly on by himself), although very shy and quiet was constantly on the go making sure tables were cleared, cleaned and reset as well as making sure that guests were well-attended to. It was apparent other guests were pleased with how well organised this young waiter was too.

In terms of the food - I have read many people complaining about other all inclusive deals in Turkish hotels on the internet - but notice that criticism usually relates to the fact that Turkish food is not their taste (why then come to Turkey? - it is not Blackpool!). What i will say is that I have been to other all inclusive resorts (3 and 4 star) and the Eken Resort came out on top. I always found that there was something to my taste (bearing in mind there is clientele from the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Germany - not just UK- sometimes you can't please everyone!!).

Breakfast usually consisted of the following selection : - boiled eggs (3 minutes and 5 minutes depending on what suits you), white Turkish bread (freshly baked - like a much lighter version of French bread), Rye Bread, Cereals, Yogurts, Dried fruits, butter, choice of jams, honey, olives, selection of cheese and meats.

Tea (traditional and a selection of flavoured teas available), coffee, orange juice and water available all day - as well as other drinks available from the bar!

Lunch usually consisted of: - breads, butter, a wide selection of salads - cucumber, tomato, lettuce, herbs, beetroot, grated carrots, a selction of salad dressings, a choice of Turkish Style Coleslaws and Houmous, Pasta, Pasta sauces, rice, potatoes (different variations everyday) a soup, hot vegetables, some choices of meat, poultry and seafood. There were also a superb array of Turkish sweets available - not for the faint hearted as dripping with sugar and syrup!

Snacks available post lunchtime were usually sandwiches, toasties, burgers, soup, chips, etc - all very nice too.

Dinner was much the same as lunch but with usually with a wider slection and different from the lunchtime offerings!

On the whole the hotel was a joy to stay at. We did find it slightly unusual the hall lights weren't on for the first few nights - but we put this down to the fact the hotel is still not full to capacity, and when the lights started to appear on by the third night we realised that perhaps staff were still getting into the swing of the season (which had not fully started) and were 'finding their feet'.

Onto the actual placement of the hotel - very well located for Gumbet and nearby Bodrum. 12 YTL in a taxi to Bodrum (maximum) which equates to £3-£4 was very reasonable. Bodrum is also within walking distance (probably about half an hour or so) but if you have mobility problems I wouldn't recommend this as there is a steep hill to climb as part of this walk!

In terms of Gumbet, the beach was just a couple of minutes walk away and pavements that led to the beach, shops and restaurants were accessible (despite earlier concerns raised by previous guests/reviewers). The only thing I would say is that the pavements seem to be quite high off the road - so watch out for drunken walks home and potential ankle killer moments!). Gumbet itself is quite small and contained, but when in high season there will be lots to do - I would say this place takes off in mid-late May. But if you want a nice quiet relaxing holiday with some attractions open - this would be the time to go! Weather was roasty toastie too.

Hope this helps you to decide on the Eken Resort Hotel - which is well located, clean, attractive, and staffed with efficient, courteous and friendly staff who go out of their way to make your stay as excellent as it can be!

Please do not listen to any bad reports of this hotel -it is what you make of it!

PS I promise I did not take money for this posting! ;o)

After reading reviews I was nervous about staying here but there was no need for me to be. I had a really good time especially since it was low season and fairly quiet.

The staff were exceptional. Polite, friendly and funny they made my holiday. Metin the bar 'captain' looked after us and I'm sure he could speak every single language going!

The food was good, there was a variety each day unlike other all inclusives where I've got bored after 3 days because it's all quite samey.

If you stay here you must have a turkish bath, Akkan was very professional and the price was reasonable.

The location is about 50m from the beach and a 5 min walk from 'Bar Street' where there's lots of places from sports bars to places to dance.

I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
